WEST JONES ELEMENTARY NAMED PASS THE TORCH SCHOOL OF THE YEAR!
West Jones Elementary was recently named the Top School of the Year for 2022-2023. The Top School Program is a part of thePass the Torchprogram sponsored by the Jones County Dropout Prevention Team.
The goal of the program is to promote the importance of good attendance every day. All schools in the district provide programs and incentives to encourage students to be at school on a regular basis. ADA (Average Daily Attendance) reports are printed each month. The school with the highest ADA becomes the TOP SCHOOL and receives the Pass the Torch trophy for the month.
The Dropout Prevention Team set the ADA Goal at 95%. Several schools have achieved that goal this year. West Jones Elementary not only achieved the 95% goal, but they have been the TOP SCHOOL three months this year.
Mr. Mark Vaughn, Supervising Principal at WJE, gave his teachers and staff the credit for keeping the students engaged and motived to be at school every day.
Congratulations, WJE! You are TOP SCHOOL OF THE YEAR!
